Mirjana has almost 35 years of experience in the field of intellectual property (IP), with a strong focus on Eastern Europe. She has advised numerous multinational companies across a range of industries, particularly in complex trademark and patent procedures, and enforcement matters in many countries of the region.

Her relevant experience includes:

• Patent prosecution for leading pharmaceutical companies
• Multi-jurisdiction protection of IP rights for a multinational financial services corporation
• Multi-jurisdiction protection of IP rights for a leading coffeehouse company
• Trademark litigation in various industries, e.g. car, food, fashion
• Assists in coordinating trademark activities such as developing trademark strategies, providing availability and infringement opinions, trademark prosecution, supervision of external trademark counsel and trademark enforcement actions
• Negotiation of Dispute Settlement Agreements
• Drafting and editing letters of consent and coexistence agreements, as well as follow-up of the agreements and their execution

She is an active member of several international intellectual property organizations. She is a member of EPI, AIPPI, and a member of the Belgrade Bar Association.

Mirjana has continuously been recognized by the IP community as an expert in this field. She has been ranked in the highest tiers for her professional achievements for 15 years by leading legal industry rankings, such as Legal 500, WTR 1000, and MIP IP Stars.

Before joining VP-IP Zatezalo, Krnetic & Partners in 2026, Mirjana worked at two prominent intellectual property firms, Zivko Mijatovic & Partners and CWB/ex-Petosevic, for almost 35 years.
